Can you get any closer to the golf course?

We confidently boast that Margaret's Cottage B&B is exceedingly close to Ardglass Golf Course, but did you realise just how close?

Our rather elegant front door is only twenty two paces from the gates of one of the best courses in Ireland. Seriously, 22 paces. I measured it yesterday, and, funnily enough, this task really didn't take me too long either.

Occasionally I have found a lonely, stray, wayward golf ball in our front garden, but you really have to over-shoot the 18th green AND slice your shot really badly to end up on our lawn..., but it has been done [and not by me, before you ask!]

I am a bit biased, but it is rather wonderful for people on a golf holiday to wake up beside the course, and have breakfast overlooking the 1st tee and 18th green. And where else would you find the ancestral pub [The Old Commercial Bar] just five doors away and serving the best Guinness in the north?

So, this season, as we open our door to golfers from all over the world, they can be sure of warm Irish hospitality, fabulous home-cooked food, luxurious en-suite bedrooms, a roaring fire, beautiful drawing room over-looking the sea and real genuine Irish weather! Sure, no-one comes to Ireland for the weather...people come to Ireland for the 'craic'. And the 'craic' is mighty.
