A house isn’t a home, until it has a cat.
This is Mr. Michael O’Shea, our resident feline at Margaret’s Cottage. He has a number of names; His Royal Furriness, Boo, Buddha, Mick, Micko, Mr. O’S, Cat, Darling Boy, and the list goes on…
Mr. O’Shea‘s favourite pastime is sleeping. His second favourite pastime is eating. He’s a rather handsome, elegant old cat and if he can’t snooze in the sunshine, then he’ll take up residence by the fire, in our guest drawing room. He doesn’t say much, but his killer glance and persistent stare allows him to communicate very effectively.
His staff [Kelsey and I ]are on hand to attend to his needs and whims – like always being on the wrong side of a door, or wanting to come back into the house two seconds after he has asked to go out. He has trained us well…yet he cannot comprehend why we are simply unable to change the weather.
We love and spoil him – as is his birth right – and he is very well behaved. He won’t venture into guests’ bedrooms, doesn’t jump up on surfaces , doesn’t claw at furniture. He won’t dare!
This lovable furry fellow has lost a few of his nine lives, but I think he has a very good life at Margaret’s Cottage. In fact, His Royal Furriness Mr. O'Shea is actually the one in charge…I just pay the bills!
